I have owned many mobile phones over the last few years, as I am sure most people have, and while none have been especially extraordinary, some have absolutely been useless. The main problem I have ever had with my cell phones has been with the battery. The battery has either stopped working or it just would not last long enough and I would need to get and carry a replacement battery.
I do use my mobile phone a lot, both for work and for home use, so having a backup battery is often a good idea but having to replace a faulty or damaged battery is such a pain. My newest phone is working fine but I would like a replacement battery for those times when I am not in the office.
Cellular Phone Battery
These are the details of my current phone (yes, I know it is a bit old, I really should find a new cell phone):
LG AX390
The LG AX390 is a pretty basic flip phone for Alltel Wireless. It measures 1.8 by 3.3 by 0.9 inches and weighs 3.2 ounces. It has an external backlit display with a color filter that displays information such as battery and signal strength, time, and caller ID, plus a full-color internal display. It’s quite sparse feature-wise, having only the basics, such as text messaging, a vibrate mode, a wireless Web browser, e-mail, basic PIM tools, and a speakerphone. However it does come with voice recognition, as well as Touch2Talk, which is Alltel’s walkie-talkie network, similar to that of Sprint Nextel’s Push-to-Talk (PTT) network. It has a rated talk time of up to three hours and a standby time of up to four days and 14 hours. The LG AX390 retails for $169.99, but you can get it for $59.99 after a two-year service agreement with Alltel.
So I guess the real question is do I spend the money getting a new LG AX390 cellular phone battery or do I just get a new phone with a long lasting battery? Replacement batteries are quite inexpensive but a new phone would be nice. Decisions, decisions…
